Most mothers get to brag on their children's report cards, the points they scored in a game, a great piano recital, you know "normal" parental bragging thangs...I, however, get to brag on things such as this:
For those of you who don't know...this is a tree climber. One can sit in the top of a tree and slaughter Bambi as he runs by underneath.
Beginning This Friday Night, I Will Be A Single Mother....
Thursday, October 18, 2007
Why you ask? Has his bi-polar crazy ass pushed me to my limit again? Ummm....welll....No....it's just that it is now huntin' season and we all know what that means. He'll work Monday-Friday and then take off for the woods as soon as possible. Heck, most nights he'll go into the woods here at the house and stay gone until a little after dark. If I live to be a hundred years old I will never understand sitting in a tree and either freezing or being dinner for mosquitoes all in the name of killing Bambi. I'm sure he doesn't understand half of what I enjoy, so we're even. He loves it so much I couldn't bitch and complain about it. So, there you have it... Woman marry Redneck, Redneck go Huntin', Bring Lots of Meat for Family, Woman cooks it. Woman WILL NOT eat it.
They let ole' Bobby Joe Dinkins fix the sign right by himself at that there fast food establishment. Uh-Huh.....He shore did. And he was mighty proud of that, yes he was. It just warms ya to the bone when someone you know gets to do something so dang-fired important. Rest of you'uns have to eat HardeeThickburgers....don't cha? His Paw is so proud of his work that he's been telling everybody that'' lend a ear that his boy is gonna write a book someday. He was beginning to think letting him stay in school until the 6th grade, instead of taking him out in the 5th, was a mistake. Ole Bobby Joe proved him wrong, ain't is so?
This was taken in Statesboro, Georgia about 20 minutes from my house......
“My mother, Southern to the bone, once told me,
"All Southern literature can be summed up in these words:
My kidz, and I, get to see all sorts of wildlife. This little guy was just sitting in the yard when we came home the other day. We always pass 10-15 deer on the way home. I am trying my best to capture some on film. I wanna share them with you!! The other night, Joey heard Jack (our Jack Russel/Chihuahua mix) barking his head off at something. He went out with his Q-Beam and there were 2 deer in our front yard. It's awesome. Well, at certain times of the year, when it's legal, Joey & Nicklaus try to kill all things cute and wonderful, but the rest of the year? It's great. This is one reason I would hate for a subdivision/government housing/massive trailer park to go in next to us. Where would we get to see all these animals? And where would Joey and Nicklaus find them to kill?
I've noticed, for the past month or so, that a lot of the trucks here are sporting what appears to be a huge pair of testicles hanging from the trailer hitch. Not willing to just wonder what the heck they were, I went to Google and entered the search term, "testicles on trailer hitch." Although I did not get an answer as to why someone would want to hang a sac of balls off their vehicle, I did find a site that sells "bumper nuts." And what a selection they have. Here are a few examples:
Flesh Colored (if you're Caucasian)
Flesh Colored (if you're not)
Blue Balls (for married men)
I still do not get the purpose of it. I have no clue why you'd want them. Is this only in the South? Or has this idiocy spread throughout our great nation? Is having a rebel flag and gun rack in your truck required to sport these dandies? I did take my camera tonight when we went out for a while to try and snap a pic or two, but for the first time in a long time, I didn't see anyone?
Since Nicklaus shot so well out in the yard the other day with the 20-gauge, his daddy just have to have one of these:
What in the heck is it? Why it's a skeet shooter. The orange things are the "clay pigeons." So now, tomorrow after gardening they'll let that thing shoot the clay pigeons into the sky and try to blow them to bits with the 20 gauge. Hubby says it will help son kill deer, "ugh (say like a caveman to get full effect.) son must shoot animals for pleasure and food. I'll stick to the USDA stamped meat for now, thank you very much...
Yep, that's what a couple of boiled bunnies look like....Aren't your taste buds watering? Unfortunately ours weren't. Hubby worked so hard on it, too. We all dutifully took a taste and then he ate a big plate of it. I had me some 'maters -n-rice with baby carrots on the side. The kidz? They asked for and got hot dogs. Ahhh....life in the country. One thing, I am looking forward to, is this: Tomorrow, Joey is gonna put the vegatable garden in and Noni and I are going to plant 200,000 flower seeds!! Yes...there will be pictures!!
As most of you know, hubby loves killing God's little woodland creatures. Even taught theSON to like it as well. (click son, see it in all it's glory) Never fear tree huggers, he is not killing them only for sport...Oh no...he likes to eat them it seems...and feed them to our children. He'd love to feed them to his wife as well, however, I do not and will not eat a bunny rabbit. It will not happen. What's got me writing about this now? Well, on our menu tonight is some yummy, yummy Rabbit and Rice. He's Chef-Boy-Ar-Joeying it right now...me? I'm gonna open a can of oh so good for me Baby Carrots and maybe have a not so good for me bologna sandwich.
Noni picked out this shirt for her daddy's birthday. Pretty redneck-y, eh?
Oh no honey...this ain't even close in the Redneck Hall of Fame. I snapped the following pic at a restraunt that we ate at yesterday. What the hell is this? And why in the hell would someone actually put it on their trailer hitch? But wait...it gets better....this thing also walks and dances and such as you roll on down the highway....Yeehaw buddy!!! You know you want one...don't cha?BWAHAHAHAHA
Yep....we've got deer in the freezer, we have frozen tree rats, and now we have bunnies on ice as well... Justin killed his first rabbit ever this weekend. But he's shot deer before....
The truly momentous occasion? Nicklaus killed his first bit of wildlife...Oh how it warms a mother's heart
....and even though you're supposed to be "blooded" when you kill your first deer...Nicklaus had his dad do it for the wascely wabbit. I must admit....Joey was quite the proud papa....
The He-Man Hare Hunting Club
Did I say He-Man????
(Relax Aunt Lisa...it's an unloaded BB Gun...and yes, she does
Ain't that sweet?? It's a dead squirrel people....and the hillbilly I married made it look like this:
So, now I have a frozen tree rat in my freezer.....I will NOT have any part in killin', cleanin', cookin' or eatin' this crap.....but hubby thinks it is quite the delicacy. Yum...Yum....
