Staph Infections-Not Just For Hospitals Anymore!
Thursday, March 01, 2007
It used to be that one only worried about getting a staph infection in a hospital. Now times have changed. There is a new breed of staph infection that left the hospital arena and jumped out into the general public. In case you're wondering, staph infections are nasty little buggers.
Pretty nasty, huh? The main strain of staph infection out here hitting the public is called MRSA (methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus). You may have even read of the pro football players that have been stuck on the bench due to it. It is also hitting our schools, children and the elderly pretty hard. It would be a very good idea to educate yourself about MRSA and find ways to avoid it!
